Northern Illinois Council of Housing Administrators
This spring The Northern Illinois Council of Housing Administrators will award thousands of dollars in education grants to students who receive help from its members in good standing. That means a one-time education grant is available to students at our housing authority who are about to enter their first time year of formal post high school education or who are current college students continuing their education. Funds may be used for instruction for college admission test preparation, tuition, books, approved activity fees, or other items of approved by the Housing Authority, provided they are education related. Those who are participating in a Family Self Sufficiency program are shown extra consideration when awards are made.
In order to apply you will need an endorsement letter from the Housing Authority, your school transcript, proof of your GED completion (if applicable), two letters of recommendation, and an essay regarding what you would like to do with your life and how an education grant can help you achieve this goal.
The application deadline is February 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. If you would like to apply please contact the Housing Authority main office right away!
